December Bliss!!!

Don't you just love all of the fun things that the holiday's bring? I sure do! Here are a few fun things we've been doing this month!

This picture was taken in November actually.  We were at GG's for Thanksgiving and Syndey was so excited to have her very own roll.  She did pretty good with it too!
Allie was suppost to be sitting in time out for something, but somehow Sydney thought she should sit with Allie!  Funny little girl!

This is one HAPPY Kaylee!  We love her this way!  She must have just got a package from our Secret Pixie's.  Our ward swapped names and we got to leave surprises for a family for Secret Pixie week and a different family left surprises for us.  It was a lot of fun making things for our family and finding treats and gifts on our door step too!

Do you see the dust in the air?  We appreciate the work that went into making these 3 Snowmen.........and I'm not talking about the ones on the counter.  Actually more workers were snowmen, but these 3 got sucked into my camera!  Grandpa James volunteered everyone to help us texture our basement.  We appreciate that work so much.  I can't say Thank you enough.  It would have taken Jared and I forever and still not have turned out as good.  Jesse and Jared helped too.  Thanks Grandpa, Uncle Russ, Dad, Jesse, and Jared.....good work.  I'll be working on the dust for a while!!!

While they worked on the basement we got to make snowmen with Aunt Lorrie and Grandma James.  We had a nice lunch too.  Actually the night before we all got together at Temple Square and walked around to see the lights and feel the Spirit of Christmas.  It was cold, but fun.  I didn't get any pictures because I'd left my camera in the car.  Oops!
Another fun tradition we love to do is make gingerbread houses.  Although ours are made from graham crackers.  The candy is mostly leftover from Halloween.

I don't know if you can even see the house.  Luckily Allie's school teacher taught her a trick.  She hot glues the crackers together so they don't cave in.  We followed her advice and they hold up great!

Sydney had fun just eating a succer while we got to work.  Should I really even call it work????  It is so much fun playing with candy!

Like I said before.......candy!!!!  The kids had a hard time settling down for bed.  It must have been the extra sugar in their tummies.

Jared helped Kaylee.  Do you see his Starburst work!!!

You gotta have a picture in front of the Christmas tree.  I strung popcorn and cranberries.  A tedious project that makes a traditional tree look homemade and traditional!  Its a good thing to do while watching a Christmas movie.

On Christmas Eve we mixed together some cookies for Santa!  Sugar cookies and gingerbread boys!

The girls are wearing their Christmas aprons I sewed for them.  Allie's teacher got one too.  She was so excited to give her a present.

We were about done when Daddy finally took our picture cutting the cookies!

Frosting and decorating the cookies!

One for Santa and one to eat!

Sydney ran around playing and drinking milk.

And Daddy slept.  He actually was sick and not feeling super, but he did make great efforts to take us to the movies in the afternoon.  We saw Yogi Bear.  The kids loved it.  Kaylee kept whispering (loudly), "Allie, the Little Bears nam is Boo Boo!"  She wouldn't stop until Allie said, "Yes, I know."  It was funny!

On Christmas Eve we also spent some time reading our 24th day of Christmas scripture and singing Silent Night.  Then we watched the Nativity.  It really touches my heart.  The kids also helped make magic reindeer food to sprinkle on the snow so that Santa could find our house.  It was quite a foggy Christmas Eve, so we knew Ruldolf would be leading them.  They got to open one gift on Christmas Eve which is a tradition the Doss family does, and they all got new jammies.  The girls went to bed well because they wanted Santa to come and..................He Did!

Christmas morning the girls got up around 7:15a.m. and we all went downstairs together.  They were very excited to see that Santa had come, he ate some cookies, and had left them some presents.

Kaylee is sporting her new Princess hat and Allie is in the background showing off her Hello Kitty shirt!

Sydney wanted her baby out of the box quick.  She sure loves hauling babies around under her arm.
What cute socks girls.  You can't get cold legs with those on!

I was trying to get a good picture of Sydney when she sneezed and this is how the picture turned out.  I thought about deleting it and then I decided to post it.
